I recently came to know some facts about our body like - we feel the pain only in the brain whenever any part of the body gets injured, but brain cannot feel pain coz it lacks sense of touch. so when an operation needs to be performed on the brain, no anesthesia is needed unlike other parts. similarly, about stomach, kidneys , the kinds of disesases we get if these organs malfunction.

A brain operation does not need anesthesia eh? Interesting!!
But guess it could be worded differently.. the brain wont feel anything.. but the forehead, head and scalp sure would feel somethin during the surgery right? :) so i guess anesthesia would be needed for them at least..
